Meet Our Founder

Raquel Luster

A smiling woman with dark brown, curly dreadlocks, wearing multiple necklaces and a nose piercing, dressed in an olive green shirt.

Hi, I'm Raquel Luster, and I believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel truly seen, heard, and understood. As a therapist and the founder of Eager Mind Services, my mission is to bridge the gap between high-quality mental health care and the communities that need it most.

Whether you are navigating the unique pressures of military life, navigating your identity within the LGBTQIA+ or BIPOC communities, or learning to work with your neurodiverse brain rather than against it—I’m here to walk alongside you. I specialize in helping high-stress individuals move away from 'should-of' thinking and toward a life built on self-compassion and realistic systems. When I’m not in the office, you can find me being a pet parent, listening to an audiobook, or exploring local coffee shops, practicing self-care I share with my clients.

Additionally, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, National Board Certified Counselor, a Board member of the Northern Virginia Counseling Association, and member of the VCA Ethics Committee. And I hold a license in Virginia (LPC), Maryland (LCPC), and Tennessee (LPC-MHSP) and am also a VA Supervisor.

Currently NOT accepting clients.

Insurances that might be accepted include Tricare, BCBS, Veterans Affairs, UHC, Aetna, Cigna.

Also accepts self-pay, with an option for sliding scale.
